Abstract: Abstract: Acidocalcisome is a kind of special organelle in parasitic protozoa. It has special structure and elements, and plays a key role in the growth, the survival and the virulence of parasitic protozoa. The discovery and nomenclature, the structure and the function of the acidocalcisome have been described in this review.
