Abstract: Abstract: Noradrenaline and adrenoreceptors are early present in the developing central nervous system of rat.The temporal and spatial distribution of adrenoreceptors in developing brain is consistent with migration and differentiation of neurons in some brain areas. These findings suggest that adrenoreceptors may mediate a neurotrophic effect of noradrenaline during the development of fetal central nervous system. The present review focuses on the pattern of adrenoreceptor mRNA expression in specific embroyonic and neonatal brain regions and the developmental regulation of adrenoreceptor on cultured mature and corresponding progenitor cells of rat CNS. in vitro and in vivo data illuminate that adrenoreceptor could play roles in proliferation, growth, migration, differentiation and survival of neural precursor cells. The understanding of noradrenaline function during early neural maturation could lead to the development of pharmacological tools aiming at improving adult brain repairing strategies.
