Abstract:

Programmed cell death 5 (PDCD5) is one of the important members of the PDCD family. It has been shown to be involved in a variety of biological activities, including programmed cell death, cell cycle, embryonic development and immunomodulation. PDCD5 expression is regulated by many factors. It promotes regulatory T cell function via the PDCD5-TIP60-FOXP3 pathway. Clinical studies have confirmed that PDCD5 is abnormally expressed in the peripheral blood, tissue fluid and organs of patients with a variety of autoimmune diseases. This review focuses on the effects of PDCD5 on autoimmune diseases and the underlying molecular mechanism.
