Abstract: Abstract: Exosomes are a kind of nano-scale extracellular vesicles secreted by cells such as endothelial cells, which are involved in intercellular communication by carrying small molecules such as proteins and nucleic acids. It has been reported that the vascular endothelial cell-derived exosomes play an important role in many pathophysiological processes. This review summarized the recent advances in the biological role of endothelial cell-derived exosomes and their molecular mechanisms, with a focus on the vital roles of endothelial cell-derived exosomes in cardiovascular diseases, ischemia-reperfusion injury, tumorigenesis, immune regulation, and their molecular mechanism of regulating the receptor cell function.
