Abstract: Abstract: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are defined as transcripts greater than 200 nucleotides in length, that lack significant protein-coding capacity. LncRNAs can regulate gene expression at transcriptional and posttranscriptional levels, and participate in cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis. Recent studies demonstrated that anomalous expression of lncRNAs was closely associated with the tumorigenesis and progression of lung cancer, which may be a potential efficient biomarker for clinical diagnosis. Therefore, further studies of lncRNAs will be helpful to elucidate molecular mechanisms of lung cancer pathogenesis, and also may provide novel diagnostic and therapeutic targets for lung cancer.
