Abstract: Abstract: microRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of evolutionarily conserved, single-stranded, non-coding RNA molecules consisting of 17~25 nt. Mature miRNAs can recognize the target mRNA through base pairing. They degrade target mRNA or suppress gene translation according to the complementary extents. MiR-155 is a typical representative of miRNA family. It can not only regulate cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis, but also play an important role in various microbial infection, immune and inflammation response. This review will highlight the function of miR-155 in the process of infection with several pathogenic microorganisms
